The Out-of-School Time (OST) Systems-Building Project has settled on the name PhillyBOOST (Boosting Outcomes for Out-of-School Time) for our project, and we are now officially launching this website. We welcome all members of the community to explore the many resources that can be found on this site related to Out-of-School Time programs in Philadelphia, and to offer any feedback that you may have. We intend for this site to be a user-friendly platform for citywide coordination and information-sharing related to the PhillyBOOST project's work, and we will be continuing to add additional resources going forward.
We are excited this month to be rolling out PhillyBOOST's Extended Information System, powered by Social Solutions' ETO software, to our first round of end users. We would like to direct current ETO users to our ETO Users page, where you can find a user forum, manuals, cheat sheets, and other resources related to ETO.
Data Project Updates
Phase 1 Implementation:
(Includes Parks & Recreation, Free Library, Police Athletic League and Independence Mission Schools)
ETO configuration and testing has been completed for the above Phase 1 OST networks. Once the interface was ready, in the second week of December, we had a series of end user trainings provided by Congreso (they are a local training partner of Social Solutions) at the School District of Philadelphia campus. About 60 end users received training. As of this week, the Phase 1 users are now live and will begin entering data to ETO.
After the users from Phase 1 use the system for a few weeks, we will be starting another series of trainings for the identified report writers. This is a slightly more advanced training which will allow these users to generate specific reports as needed for their organization and have the ability to effectively access the inbuilt reports in ETO.
(Mostly DHS-funded PCAPS Users and After School Activities Partnerships)
While Phase 1 was being implemented, we also continued to work closely with PHMC’s PCAPS team to map PCAPS data (for DHS-funded OST programs) with ETO. We are almost done with this mapping, which will be followed by the approval of a system blueprint, test data uploads, interface building, system testing, and finally end user trainings before go-live. We are slightly behind schedule but are hoping to have the system ready by the second week of February for Phase 2 users.
Given that we now have a live system, we want to re-engage the sub-groups of the Data Work Group and have discussions around data quality, governance, and sustainability. If you are interested in joining any of the sub-groups, please let Gulal Nakati (firstname.lastname@example.org) know.
Next Data Work Group Meeting:
Our next Data Work Group meeting will be held on Friday, January 31st, 2:00pm to 3:30pm, at the Municipal Services Building (1401 JFK Blvd), 16th Floor, Room E.
